- via A17 (Dresden – Prague), exit, further along A17a, 2nd exit after crossing the Elbe River in Pirna, then follow S164 towards Neustadt in Sachsen as far as Stolpen
- via B6 (Dresden – Bautzen) towards Bischofswerda as far as Fischbach rotary, then further along S159 to Stolpen
By bus
- R261 (Dresden – Sebnitz), stops Stolpen Aerztehaus or Stolpen Schuetzenhausstrasse
- R224 (Pirna – Neustadt in Sachsen), stops Stolpen Aerztehaus or Schuetzenhausstrasse
By rail
- RB71 (Pirna – Neustadt in Sachsen), stop Stolpen, followed by a 30-minute walk to Stolpen Castle
